چکیده

Summary Chronic renal failure (CRF) syndrome significantly alters patients’ quality of life. Anaemia, hypertension, and cardiovascular diseases are common complications CRF. The study aimed to determine the incidence arterial hypertension (AH), anaemia, left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) in patients with CRF analyze relationship between them. included 212 CRF, treated at Clinic Nephrology Dialysis University Hospital “Dr. G. Stranski,” Pleven, during 2008-2020. AH accounted for 88.2% is comparable that predialysis period – 88.6% among on dialysis 87.9%. LVH was diagnosed 94.3% 94.3%, -94.4%. hypertensive normotensive comparable. anaemia 86.3%. Anaemia present 94.4% 78.1% period. difference significant (p <0.05). There no correlation AH, nor LVH. A dependence duration chronic treatment established.

Left ventricular function in chronic renal failure.

Left ventricular function was studied in 14 patients with end-stage chronic renal failure using non-invasive methods (echocardiography and systolic time intervals). Patients were divided into 3 groups. Group 1 consisted of 5 patients who were normotensive at the time of study and group 2 of 7 patients who were hypertensive when studied. Group 3 consisted of 2 patients: one was receiving propran...

Left ventricular hypertrophy and chronic renal insufficiency in the elderly.

BACKGROUND The global population is aging. Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in both men and women older than 65 years. In particular, elderly patients have an increased prevalence of left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) and chronic kidney disease (CKD), both of which predict increased cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. LVH and CKD frequently coexist in the elderly, and LV...

Prevalence and patterns of left ventricular hypertrophy in patients with predialysis chronic renal failure.

Left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) is an independent risk factor for cardiac death. This study evaluates the prevalence and patterns of LVH in patients with predialysis chronic renal failure (CRF) and analyses the relationship between LVH and various predisposing factors. Sixty-two CRF patients were recruited from the renal clinic with serum creatinine over 2 mg/dl. Using echocardiography, we c...

Left ventricular hypertrophy and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring in chronic renal failure.

BACKGROUND Left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) is both common and an important predictor of risk of death in end-stage renal failure (ESRF). In mild to moderate chronic renal failure (CRF), the timing of onset of LVH and the factors involved in its initial development have not been fully elucidated. The present study was undertaken to examine the prevalence and potential determinants of echocard...

Left ventricular hypertrophy in African Black patients with chronic renal failure at first evaluation.

OBJECTIVE Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a major cause of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality all over the world. The combined effect of volume and pressure overload seen in patients with CKD is the primary cause of left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH). Though it accounts for a significant proportion of patients dying in hospitals in Nigeria, information on CKD in African Blacks is lacking. T...
